Book Status

The Book Committee is moving ahead with inputting the information you provided on your respective families.  We’ve selected a printer and are busy formatting the information getting it ready for printing.  Progress is to a point where it is necessary to apprise you of a couple important issues that need attention before we finalize our efforts.  First, we want to be sure each of you has had the opportunity to place your order/s for a book and second, we need your assistance in filling in voids where we do not have the complete information on your family.  Each of these issues is important and will be discussed separately in this newsletter.

The 2004 Hoelscher-Buxkemper Family Reunion will be held at the Mayborn Convention Center in Temple, Texas on 17 and 18 July 2004.  Mark your calendars now!  More information will be provided in the invitations when they are mailed in the early spring of 2004.

                        Missing Data

In the last century and a half the Hoelscher-Buxkemper Family has grown quite large and descendants now live in many parts of the world making it extremely difficult to stay in contact with all of them.  Through all our efforts we still do not have input from all the descendants and, in order to make this book as complete as can be we need your help.  We have voids in two areas, 4th generation biographies and personal data.

          4th Generation Biographies
In previous Newsletters, it was requested someone in the family provide a Biography of their 4th generation ancestors to be included in the book.  The Bio was to be in paragraph format and no more than 500 words.  It was also requested that two photographs be provided with the bio, one, a wedding picture of the ancestor and two a picture of the ancestors’ family.  The pictures will be returned once prints are made for the book.

Please screen the following list of 4th generation family members for whom we do not have biographies.  If the name of one of your ancestors is on the list, take the time to prepare a biography for them.  Provide us with content.  We will edit it for format, Punctuation, Etc.

4th generation family members whose descendants do not provide us with a biography will have what Family Chairpersons can prepare from knowledge available.  In some cases, that may only be the birth date, wedding date, name of spouse, and death date.

Mail 4th generation biographies to:                  Hubert & Nita Lange

Personal Data

A lot of time and energy has been expended by the Family Chairpersons in trying to obtain data on all members of this large family.  Through all their efforts, personal data is still missing on many.  The following list of names are those for whom we have no personal data.  Please review this list and help us in any way you can, i.e., send us the data, using the form, or give us the name of a contact who can.  We would like the book to be as complete as possible but will go to print with what we have.  HELP!!! Personal data is needed by 1 April 2003.

Other Important Information

Address

The current mailing list has over 5,025 names of which 182 are considered lost because we don’t have a current address.  IF any of your family are not on the mailing list, if a name is misspelled, a name has changed, or an address has changed please notify us by addressing your concern to the return address on the Newsletter or e-mail us: hw17@juno.com

HELP!!!
The Family Chairpersons have been trying to fill voids in the data by directly contacting family members by phone or mail and have had some success but we need your help.  This effort was Family oriented, i.e. Elizabeth, Anton, Joe, Etc. and was an expense for long distance phone calls and postage, and has not been all that fruitful.  In a last ditch effort to make this book as complete as possible, we would like to find family members who would assist us by working as an area contact for family members in their area. This will require some work on your part but it will only be short term.  You can volunteer by calling: Hubert Lange (210) 684-3950 or  e-mail us: hw17@juno.com

Religious
The form used to collect “Personal Data” does not address the data we need from the religious.  We have what is in the 1978 book but we need your input to bring us up to date.
For Clergy, we are asking for the Date and location of Ordination, date and location of elevation to Monsignor, date and location of Consecration to Bishop.
For Nuns, we are asking for the date and location of Final Vows.
Please include other information you consider pertinent.

All Personal Data is needed by 1 April 2003

Information Updates

We will accept update information such as Births, Deaths, and Marriages up to 31 December 2003 as these will have minimal impact on the layout of the book.
