The Westphalia Picnic and Homecoming in Westphalia, TX, provides the 125 year old Visitation Catholic CHurch parish funds to maintain the "largest wooden-structure church in Texas". Serving of fresh sausage, homefried chicken, Westpahalia noodles, slaw, dessert, and tea will be served, continually at the Parish Hall, from 11 AM to 6 PM. Plates to go will also be available. Bring your family and friends to take part in games, live auction, fun and fellowship on Sunday, October 12, 2008. Sunday morning Mass will be celebrated at 8 AM.
Take a few minutes to visit the Church, Little School Museum, Uncle Rubin's Farm Shed, and Convent during the afternoon, and take a step back in time to see what life was like in Westpahlia, Texas, over 120 years ago. This community is recognized as a Texas Rural Historica District in the National Register of Historic Places. Everyone is Welcome.
