2016 Reunion Letter

2016 Hoelscher – Buxkemper Family Reunion
In 1846, Anton and Mary Catherine Hoelscher boarded a ship for Texas. Now, one hundred seventy years later, their descendants will gather in New Braunfels to celebrate the 32nd Biennial Hoelscher – Buxkemper reunion on Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26, 2016. All members of the family are invited to attend the reunion to share fellowship, memories, and the extraordinary bond of our family.
The reunion will be held at the New Braunfels Convention Center, 375 South Castell, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. Activities for Saturday include a silent auction, souvenirs, a domino tournament, children’s and teen area, memorabilia displays, a raffle, supper and a Saturday night Polka dance and music for the younger folks or young at heart in the adjoining ballroom.
Mass is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Following Mass, photos will be taken of all those 80 and above, and a large panoramic photo of the entire H-B family will be taken by Loudermilk Photography. A noon meal of baked chicken and ham will be served at 11:00. The general family meeting will start at 12:30 with news, awards and other family information. This will conclude the reunion.
If you have more time to visit there are a variety of recreational opportunities, antiques shops, dining and parks near New Braunfels. Schlitterbahn is located there and the Guadalupe and Comal rivers have tubing, rafting, or just swimming. Fiesta Texas and Seaworld are located in San Antonio.
You are invited to come to the reunion, reminisce with family members, and meet new relatives. Pre-registration is recommended, and there is a discount for registering before June 6, 2016. Registrations at the door will be accepted
