A Note from the President

Hello Cousins,

All over the United States people are spitting into a tube and mailing it off for their DNA test to see where they are from. I did it. And no surprise there, 65% Western European, a little Denmark and a little Eastern Europe, trace amount other areas. But do you know what countries our family left to come to Texas?   Those stories were written in detail in the 2003 Hoelscher Family Book. There are over 300 stories in that big blue book with hundreds of pictures of all our family. In story after story you can read about the hardships they overcame, the triumphs they and their families had.

The Hoelscher Buxkemper Association is working hard to continue their mission to establish unity for the preservation of the heritage of the Hoelscher – Buxkemper Family, descendants from Anton & Mary Katherine Hoelscher. We are looking at new areas to host the family reunions, but with over 5,000 mailing addresses we want to encourage more people to attend the reunions. The last two years we had 500+ people attend. We would like to see more people attend.

We have also started working on a new book(s): Collecting stories, photos, and updating the family genealogy.

Linda Binns, President

Hoelscher – Buxkemper Board of Directors.
